Westwind provides counselling
and treatment for women suffering from anorexia, bulimia
and related disorders in a home-like atmosphere,
significantly different from the institutional format of
traditional hospitals and clinics. Treatment is
collaborative rather than imposed, uses various interactive
techniques and is individualized and personal.
Westwind eating
disorder recovery centre’s small home-like setting has all
the elements necessary for a successful
recovery:

Eating disorders such as
anorexia and bulimia have been recognized as serious
problems for the past few decades, and the incidence of
these disorders is on the rise. These disorders are
multi-faceted and require treatment that is specialized and
individualized. This is what we provide at our treatment
center. We are not a general center attempting to treat
many different mental health issues. We specialize in
treating only eating disorders, and our size allows us to
be very individualized in our treatment.
There are only a handful of facilities in North America
that we are aware of, with the specialized intensive
treatment and range of services that we offer, while
avoiding an institutional format. We offer a high quality,
professionally run program that relies on evidence based
forms of treatment. We focus on meeting your needs in a
warm, supportive, caring, and tolerant environment, that is
unconditional in its response to your rate of recovery.
Our residential program is open to adult females 18 years
and older. Occasionally we will accept those close to 18
years of age depending on maturity level and permission of
guardian. We occasionally accept those under 18 to stay off
site with an adult and attend our program during the day.
